About Ed
Ed has always loved music. Originally a singer, Ed sang in many bands and performances, even performing twice at The National Rock & Pop Festival at Birmingham's N.E.C arena. Ed decided to pick up an instrument; Ed settled on Bass guitar which has since became his main instrument.
Being one of few established Bass players in the area, Ed was immediately swamped with requests from other students and local bands. After playing with several Punk and Ska bands, Ed was offered a place in a band which would be his main stay for several years. "Drag Queen Bingo" with Ed on bass, had played the semi finals of Surface Unsigned and Godiva Festival's G-Factor. He was featured as part of BBC Coventry and Warwickshire's band of the month, and received local radio airplay in Coventry, Birmingham and Brighton, as well as playing many small scale UK tours.
After the band's break up, Ed continued with music even returning to North Warwickshire and Hinckley College to study a BTEC in Popular music and join local Blues, Rnb and Jazz group The Crawdaddys. This sparked Ed's love with Jazz which has stayed with and inspired him to form his own Jazz Quartet.
After passing his BTEC with a triple distinction grade Ed has since graduated from Wolverhampton University with a first class degree in Popular Music. During his time at there Ed joined many ensemble groups becoming the bass player for the Jazz group and in the university's musical theatre department's pit band. Ed also played in Staffordshire's youth Big Band for some time. Ed Also performed with his jazz band 'Covered In Jazz' at The World Youth Jazz Festival 2013 in Kuala Lumpur.
Since finishing his degree Ed has been performing in a number of the UK's to function and tribute bands as well as a large number of up coming artists including John Galea and Hannah Paris. In 2018 Ed had the pleasure of performing with Gloria Estefan at Leicester's Curve Theatre to help promote her musical, Get On Your Feet. Ed is also working with Leicester's college of performing arts (LCPA), performing for their musical productions. Also in late 2019, Ed became the bassist for the international Coldplay tribute band Ultimate Coldplay.
